Child Safety Standards
Last updated 6 September 2026
Humsafar's standards against child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE), how to report a concern, and how we respond.
Zero tolerance
Humsafar (the app and Humsafar, the developer, as listed on our Google Play and App Store listings) has zero tolerance for child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE) — any content or behavior that sexually exploits, abuses, endangers, or grooms a child, including sextortion and trafficking. This applies to every part of the app: profiles, photos, bios, chat messages, voice notes, and audio/video calls.
Humsafar is restricted to adults 18 and older. We ask for date of birth during onboarding and do not knowingly allow anyone under 18 to hold an account.
Reporting a concern
Report a person or a specific message without leaving the app: open their profile or the chat thread and use Report, or block them from Safety settings. Reports go straight to our trust & safety review queue.
If you cannot use in-app reporting, or the concern is broader than one account, email hello@humsafar.chat with as much detail as you can (phone number or profile name, approximate time, and what happened).
If a child is in immediate danger, contact local emergency services first, then report to us.
How we respond
Every report is reviewed. Confirmed CSAE results in immediate account termination and removal of the associated content, regardless of any other pending action on the account.
Where required by law, we cooperate with law enforcement and report child sexual abuse material (CSAM) to the relevant authorities (including India’s National Crime Records Bureau reporting channels and, where applicable, NCMEC).
A member of our team is available to discuss our CSAM prevention practices and compliance with platform policies at hello@humsafar.chat.
